Bonus share – meaning

Bonus issue is the issue of shares for no cash to existing shareholders in proportion to their current holding

It is issued at nominal price and
hence does not give rise to share
premium. It does not lead to dilution of existing holding.
All shareholders are allotted the
bonus issue and are obliged to take up Meant to increase capital base of the company and gives creditors
